Carey’s Website

This is an early release of Carey Evans’s personal website. The design isn’t all that I want, and there’s no weblog software installed yet, but most of the old pages have been copied over.

You will find everything in one of two locations:

• Documents for essays, articles and link collections.
• Code for programs, libraries and code samples I’ve written.

There’s also a few wedding photos.

History

Older versions of my web pages, with correspondingly simpler designs, are available from the Internet Archive:

1. My first web pages were done while I was at Canterbury University doing an honours degree in computer science. I was a lot younger then, and it’s surprising how embarrassing they aren’t.

2. I put together the second version of my pages after leaving university. The HTML has come a long way, but the design still leaves something to be desired. On the other hand, there isn’t much content on my current site that wasn’t on this one.

3. The third version was still hosted at my ISP, but added a coloured crumbtrail at the top of each page, and was more or less automatically generated from source XML files. This didn’t make it any easier to maintain, though.

This version is written in hand-coded HTML again, but I hope to move to a more flexible system in the future as time allows.
